This program, part of a continuing collaboration between the University of Buffalo Law School Alumni Association and the Monroe County Bar Association, focuses on two of the critical portions of any criminal trial; the opening statement and the closing argument. The experienced panel will provide practical tips for crafting and presenting effective opening statements and closing arguments. In addition, there will be discussion about how to identify prosecutorial misconduct and objectionable statements in opening or closing arguments and how to identify and preserve objectionable matters during trial for the purpose of a later appellate review.
