This program presents a brief overview of various key immigration-related considerations relevant to the M&A context, including recommended actions before, during and after the deal. Given the global economy, many companies employ key personnel coming from other countries, who are dependent on employer-sponsored work authorization. M&A work can terminate the work authorization rendering the employee illegal and the company unable to employ a key team member. The program will help people understand the immigration context and how to avoid losing key personnel. It will also comment on assuming I-9 liabilities in the M&A context.
